A great weekend in Nundle
I back!! I have just been to Day in the Country to be a tutor for a weekend. It was run by Kerry Swain from on the Hill in Nundle, and I had a BALL!! first things first the unveiling!! I did three projects for the Nundle workshop two using Pete hand dyed wool (did I tell you he has named his new business Ewes (ie here some wool yous an absolute Australianism don you think?)
I made a pincushion on a spool and a needlecase. I will be making a pattern from these which will be available soon, and am calling it Needlecase and Pincushion Ta da.
The third project was a small stitchery which I made into a jewellery (or nic nac) box. I used valdani threads to stitch this, and just love the way the colour variations work. Below shows the outside, but there is also a view of the back and of the pockets inside. I am also making this into a pattern, and naming it Birdsong Jewellery Box.

Nundle is a gorgeous town not too far from Tamworth, and is so tiny, but has all the good things such as a patchwork shop (grin of course!), cafe, antique shops, wool mills, general store and not too much else, so is TOTALLY relaxing and quaint.

Kerry put on a wonderful weekend and decorated the hall with flowers and cupcakes. Absolutely everyone I met was just lovely and so happy to be away from the hum drum,[url=http://www.sport.fr/business/louisvuitton.html]louis vuitton paris[/url]. It almost felt as though I had a holiday too (apart from the scary scary factor of having to use a microphone to give a bit of a tutorial EEEK!). There were women from as far away as Jervis Bay and Brisbane. That just tells you how far away they will come to share a retreat with Kerry.
When the publicity on this group first came out, I got several emails from friends encouraging me to use this service. My husband took a family medical leave and did most of the household chores during my five months of chemo. I hope that people who are on their own with limited resources and really need housecleaning help have access to this service, not people taking advantage of "free" stuff trying to "win" a spot at noon. Perhaps the awareness of Cleaning for a Reason inspires friends to offer help to chemo patient directly by actually cleaning, helping with shopping, etc., or by paying for a service (not necessarily this one) to help.
